Remembrance Service for Late Queen Held in Peace Garden

On Saturday 17 September, CEO and founder of local charity One Vision, Enoch Kanagaraj organised a 45-minute Remembrance Service for Queen Elizabeth II held in the Peace Garden in Stanborough Park, Garston.

It was attended by Hertfordshire Deputy Lord Lieutenant Akhtar Zamam, Dame Helen Hyde, former Head of Watford Girls' Grammar School and a trustee of the charity, Alain Fidelia a local businessman and trustee, Colonel Harry Lomas RLC MBE BEM, who has been actively involved with the charity and is Honorary Colonel of 167 Catering Support Regiment RKC for Queen Elizabeth ll, Paul Lee, who sang a song of remembrance and who was the soloist with Kingdom Choir, at the wedding of Harry and Meghan. Pastor Terry Messenger, the senior minister, Stanborough Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, provided 'words of comfort'.

Closing remarks were given by Dean Russel MP for Watford, Harjit Singh, DL Chair of Watford Interfaith Association, and Cllr Amanda Grimston, Chair of Watford Borough Council who stood in for Mayor Peter Taylor.

Stanborough Park Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a spectacular Flower Festival from 3–5 October 2025, raising funds for the Rennie Grove Hospice. Organised by Chelsea Gold Medal Winner Audrey Balderstone Huzzey, the event featured 41 themed floral displays, a gala concert, and a Songs of Praise evening. The festival reflected community love, creativity, and Christian compassion.
