Tottenham Lighthouse SDA Church Unites Community with Sabbath Fellowship

On 11 January 2025, Tottenham Lighthouse Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a remarkable Sabbath service that united a diverse community.

Pastor Jude Jeanville delivered an inspiring sermon titled “Come Sup with Me”, based on Revelation 3:14–20, inviting everyone to embrace fellowship. He shared, “It is not going to be business as usual in this church because God is going to do something wonderful here. God is going to pour out His Holy Spirit in latter rain portions, and we will see things we have never seen before. Faith without works is dead. It is not what we believe or profess, but what we practise that matters.”

The morning’s scripture reading reinforced themes of unity and community, deeply resonating with attendees. In a heartwarming initiative, all church members and individuals attending the community food hub were invited to share a sit-down meal inside the church, encouraging deeper connections and meaningful conversations.

The fellowship transcended cultural barriers. Tottenham Lighthouse, a predominantly Black congregation, warmly welcomed guests from Eastern Europe and other nationalities, creating an enriching and inclusive experience.

After the service, tables were laid, and everyone enjoyed a meal together, fostering a sense of togetherness and understanding.

Church members were encouraged to engage with their neighbours, each receiving a card and the task of getting acquainted with one community member and obtaining their contact details. This initiative aimed to build stronger bonds and promote inclusivity.

The fellowship was a resounding success, with church members and community members mingling and sharing their experiences. Following Christ’s method in The Ministry of Healing, page 43: “The Saviour mingled with men, took interest in them, ministered to their needs, won their confidence and then bade them follow me.”

We received many positive comments, including:

  • “Wonderful, a good day. I want to give my heart to the Lord.”

  • “Good service to talk to people of the community, getting health tips and a community member, visitor sharing his alcoholic experience with me.”

  • “Food delicious.”

  • “An amazing day that’s never happened in Tottenham church. We should continue on a regular basis. Some didn’t understand the language too well, but it was a blessing for them to come and sit and sup with us. So many people are happy. We give thanks to God and pray that we lifted up Jesus so that He can lift all men up to Him.”

The day concluded with a sense of joy and gratitude, as attendees left inspired by the powerful demonstration of faith, love, and hospitality.
