Save Me– Phase 2: Area 6a Churches Making An Impact
SAVE ME Campaign 2026 – Phase 2 started at Edmonton, Enfield and Tottenham Lighthouse Churches on Sabbath, 18 July 2026. The Sabbath speakers at: Edmonton - Ray Patrick, a seasoned veteran for The Master; Enfield - Bro Wayne Smikle, a Newbold College Religion & Theology student; and Tottenham Lighthouse Church - Elder Fitz Vernon Jr, a budding pastor in the making.
At Tottenham Lighthouse there were many visitors to the service, including someone from a Pentecostal Church. We were truly blessed by Elder Fitz’s sermon on ‘Suspended Grace’. One of the texts he used was Ecclesiastes 8:11, ‘Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, there the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.’ Leytonstone, who completed SAVE ME - Phase 1 on Wednesday, 8 July joined us with their Praise Team. We were truly blessed. After service, we went into the park and did health checks, gave out literature and the Communications Team provided the music. We were in the park for less than two hours and 22 persons had their blood pressure checked and many booklets and leaflet were distributed.
SAVE ME Campaign – Phase 2 is held online Sunday – Tuesday, and at church on Wednesday, Friday and Sabbath. When online, all three churches join the same programme. For the first week, on Sunday, 19 July our speaker was Tiroy Joseph Jr, better known as TJ. His topic was the God Who Answers by Fire. On Monday, 20 July our speaker was Dr Silburn Reid, Pastor of the Staten Island SDA Church in the USA. The titles of his messages were: ‘Bailed Out By Grace’, and ‘Building on the Solid Rock.’ The youth leaders from Edmonton, Enfield and Tottenham Lighthouse - Bro Ricardo Davis, Sis Mirtell Anderson and Sis Candice Charles, respectively were responsible for organising these three days. Our youth did us proud, and rose to the occasion.
For the rest of the week, the three churches were blessed with spirit-filled speakers such as Pastor Rushane Walker, formerly of West Jamaica Conference, but very active in ministry in the UK; Elder Fitz Vernon Jr and Sis Serena Hutchinson - an active member of UCY (formerly Brix Kidz). Sis Serena, despite picking up a knee injury and using a crutch to support herself, stood right through her presentation, although a chair was provided for her. She used a Mentimeter to elicit responses from the congregation. We were all blessed.
On Sabbath, 25 July at Tottenham Lighthouse, the speaker was Bro Casey-Jon Tengende from the Leicester Central Church. He was recommended by Pastor Hina Ahmed as a strong speaker, and he was truly used by the Lord to bless us. He pointed out how fitting the Campaign theme of SAVE ME was, as we were all in dire need of the Saviour, Jesus Christ to save us. The Lord’s Instrument (TLI) a choir made up of our youth, conducted our praise and worship session and sang the Meditational Song. Bro Casey-Jon later commented how he was blessed by the music, and that he had listened to it again while driving back to Leicester. He will be the Divine Service speaker at Tottenham Lighthouse on Sabbath, 1 August. Elder Fitz Vernon Jr and Pastor Juan Carlos Patrick will be the SAVE ME Campaign speakers at Edmonton and Enfield Churches, respectively on that day.
As we are approaching the final days of SAVE ME Campaign 2026, at Tottenham Lighthouse we are preparing for baptism during Divine Service on Sabbath, 1 August. Later at 5pm there will be a Celebratory and Fundraising Concert where all the churches are invited to attend. We are celebrating God’s leading during the SAVE ME Campaign, and we are thankful that in faith we obediently followed His instructions. We will fundraise at the concert, by collecting an offering for the ADRA Venezuela Earthquake Appeal. We have an impressive line-up of artistes, including old favourites like The Golden Chord. Also, Janine Thorpe who sang last month at the Royal Albert Hall in ‘Prom Praise: To the Ends of the Earth’, Ola Olayinka – Violinist from the East London School of Music, Omega Edwards, Tashae Waldron, Maureen Clarke, The Roro Family, Mariska Edwards and many more. As it is the final moments of SAVE ME Campaign 2026, during the concert our Pastor Dr Michael Hamilton will give us a brief charge as disciples of Christ.
The motto for SAVE ME Campaign 2026 is IMPACT – Inspired Missionaries Proclaiming the Advent of Christ Today. Let us make an impact on the lives of others, but first let us turn the searchlight on ourselves and take heed of Paul’s words found in Romans 13:11-12, ‘And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.'
