Cheltenham Christian Arts Festival

Cheltenham Christian Arts Festival has been organised by Christians in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, since 2016. The idea is for the town's churches to come together to celebrate our God-given artistic talents.

We at Cheltenham Seventh-day Adventist church chose to join in this year by putting on a concert of traditional and contemporary Christian music with congregational singing. Last Friday evening in the St Marks Methodist church building some of our members gathered along with friends to praise God together. We were pleasantly surprised by some new combinations of talents including a new ladies a cappella group opening each half of the concert, a recently formed contemporary band called Three Disciples, our newly formed church choir and a couple of dramatised Bible passage renditions. Cheltenham Adventist church members and visitors from other churches enjoyed singing lively old and modern hymns accompanied by various instruments such as violins, guitars, piano, recorder and drums.

The refreshments served during the interval gave opportunity to network and to hear some very positive feedback. Afterwards one of our 25 visitors said that he was 'moved' by all the songs. Another commented that she couldn't think of a better way to spend a Friday evening.
