Taunton District of Churches Celebrates 5th International Music Day

The district, comprising Taunton and Yeovil churches and the Chard church plant, celebrated this year’s joint International Music Day on 28 March in Yeovil, highlighting its diversity and musical talents from well over fourteen countries represented on the day. The divine service was led by the SEC Ministerial Secretary, Pastor Kwesi Moore, who delivered a short but powerful message reminding the church of the importance of worship to God and how our expression should reflect an overflow of our experience of His abundant grace. He charged the church to continue singing praises to God despite the challenges we are facing in the world today.

Another highlight of the worship service was the introduction of the incoming ministerial intern to the district, Hope Njoku and his family, who were warmly introduced and handed over to the church by Pastor Moore. He charged the new district leader to be ready always to preach the word in season and out of season.

The members added colour to the afternoon concert with their traditional clothing, costumes, and hoisted flags from several countries. The celebration was marked by stories, musical renditions, and songs as the churches united in praise to God for His continued divine providence to the district.

Hope ended the programme with an appeal to the members to let their light shine and called for unity to transform their lives while their hearts remain anchored in Christ. The celebration is indeed a reminder to the church community that the world cannot stay the same if we are truly united in Christ.
