Church hires coach and takes neighbours to the seaside

Tottenham Lighthouse Church Makes a Splash at Southend-on-Sea!

On Sunday, 1 June 2025, the Tottenham Lighthouse SDA Community Services Department organised a memorable day trip to Southend-on-Sea for local women attending the food bank. The outing brought together 30 women from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, fostering fellowship, friendship, and laughter. As they shared their experiences, language barriers melted away, and a sense of community and understanding prevailed. For some, it was their first time at the seaside, and the excitement was palpable.

The group enjoyed a scenic coach ride, shared lunches featuring international cuisine (Greek, Turkish, African, Indian, and Asian delights), and strolled along the seaside, savouring the experience.

One participant expressed heartfelt gratitude: “I’ve never been to the seaside! Thank you so much for this experience. God bless you all.” Another shared, “My daughter had an amazing experience… it was her first time at the seaside. We’re already asking when we can meet again.”

Weekly, over 200 people from the community access the church’s food bank. As part of its strategy, Tottenham Lighthouse understands that “He that wins souls is wise”; therefore, a series of connecting activities is essential as we make friends for Christ.

This outreach event demonstrated the church’s commitment to following Christ’s method of mingling, ministering, winning confidences, and inviting people to follow us.

Despite obstacles, the Tottenham Lighthouse Church members are determined to positively impact their community by touching people’s lives in significant and meaningful ways. The strong sense of community within the church is a testament to the power of the Holy Spirit, inspiring and uniting individuals to work together to make a difference in the lives of others. Sabbath after Sabbath, community members join for worship and fellowship—some cannot even speak English, but they come because they feel God’s love through friendship and worship.
