Hope has a Name… and He is a solution to our Crisis

Walthamstow two weeks series culminating in four Baptisms

In East London, from the 5th to the 19th of October 2024, many were blessed by a series of meetings at Walthamstow SDA Church entitled “The Solution to our Crisis.”

The series was led by Pastor Christopher Johnson, who originates from the West Jamaica Conference. Pastor Johnson preached a series of inspiring Bible-based seminars, which included topics such as ‘Famine in the Land’ and ‘Heaven is a Real Place.’

Cheyna Ashe, from California, USA, was our singing and musical evangelist for the entire series. Cheyna, who plays eight different instruments, rendered many songs during the series, including several which she had written and composed herself. They were a real blessing.

‘Hope Has a Name’ was the series theme song that complemented the messages very well. Our hospitality team gave everyone attending a very warm welcome and even warmer free hot meals before each meeting. This increased fellowship and in-person attendance. We also had good interaction with our online viewers, with several asking for prayer.

Some of our guests heard about the series through our digital evangelism channels, highlighting the importance of these communication methods.

The seminars included a powerful message, praise and worship, health topics, and the opportunity for attendees to request Bible study or baptism. The series ended on a high note, with four people giving their lives to Christ through baptism. Our resident Pastor Stanley Teixeira and Pastor Johnson conducted the baptisms. There was abundant joy and a warm Walthamstow welcome extended to Noveyah, Kylah, Tessa, and Gine – our four newest members. Please keep them all in your prayers.

You can catch up with our “The Solution to our Crisis” series on the Walthamstow SDA Church YouTube channel.
