Sister Freda, the beloved mother of Pastor Vince Goddard, Roderick, Yvonne, Marlene, Ronald and Louise, passed away peacefully in hospital on Tuesday, 24 May 2022, at 1:43 am. Freda was one of the founding members of the Preston Seventh-day Adventist church in 1969. She will also be remembered for her Ingathering passion and as a colporteur.

Her funeral will take place at the Preston Adventist church. Further details will follow in due course. The family would like to thank all for the many expressions of good wishes and condolences sent to them at this difficult time.

Serving with Love: A Tribute to Women at SDA East London Portuguese Church

The East London Portuguese SDA Church marked Sabbaths on 8 and 14 March 2026 with a Men’s Ministry-led initiative honouring women through service and appreciation. From breakfast to worship and fellowship, men led every aspect of the day, culminating in a message on women’s role in God’s mission. The programme highlighted gratitude, unity, and the importance of women in both church life and outreach.
