By Robert Kyei-Gyau, Plaistow, London
Sabbath, 31 January 2026, was marked by mixed emotions at the London Ghana Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church as the congregation bade farewell to Ministerial Intern Bright Agyemang Baah.
Baah has served faithfully for two years, working closely with the substantive pastor, George Boakye Asiamah. He has now been appointed by the South England Conference (SEC) to serve as District Pastor for the Canterbury and Margate branches on the south coast, with effect from Sunday, 1 February 2026.
During a short but moving farewell ceremony, Pastor Asiamah paid glowing tribute to Baah’s diligence, dedication, and commitment to ministry. He described him as a dependable partner and a great source of spiritual and emotional support throughout his tenure.
“If the SEC will send us a replacement, I would prefer a like-for-like or someone even better,” Pastor Asiamah remarked, noting Baah’s significant impact on the church, particularly among the youth.
The First Elder, Kwasi Ntiamoah Amponsah, also expressed appreciation on behalf of the congregation. He highlighted Baah’s contribution to youth baptisms, Bible studies, community visitation, and the spirit of innovation he brought to London Ghana SDA Church.
In his farewell remarks, Baah expressed heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Asiamah, the pastoral team, and the entire congregation for their unwavering support, encouragement, and mentorship. He described his departure as “not a goodbye, but a ‘see you later,’” adding, “By God’s grace, if it is His will, you will see me again.”
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Baah and the presentation of parting gifts, as the congregation wished him God’s guidance and success in his new assignment.
