My Media, My Evangelism’: Communications Day Empowers Southeast London Church for Digital Witness

On Sabbath, 26th April 2025, Southeast London Community Seventh-day Adventist Church held a dynamic Communications Day under the theme "My Media, My Evangelism" and the Church." The day was designed to inspire and equip members to embrace digital platforms as powerful evangelism and community engagement tools.

Dr. Sorin Petrof, the Media and Communications Director for the South England Conference, spent the day with the congregation, and the feedback was inspiring, to say the least. During Divine Service, Dr. Petrof delivered a powerful and motivating message centred on the story of Joseph. He encouraged the congregation to keep their faith and dreams alive, reminding us that, like Joseph, we will reach our God-given goals if we do not faint. "Dreaming is free," Dr. Petrof emphasised, "and if we must dream, let us dream big." His sermon was a timely reminder to aim high and trust in God's leading, no matter the challenges.

The afternoon session, which began at 3:00 pm, was equally impactful. Dr. Petrof led an engaging and interactive workshop on Digital Evangelism. He provided the church with practical tools, strategies, and insights into how to be effective witnesses for Christ in the noisy and fast-paced digital world. The discussion explored how churches can meaningfully engage online audiences, create impactful digital content, and navigate the challenges of the vast digital landscape.

The day was a blessing to all in attendance. It reignited a passion for communication ministry and equipped the church with fresh ideas for sharing the gospel in the digital age.

We thank Dr. Petrof for dedicating his time, energy, and expertise to bless Southeast London Community Church. We look forward to putting the knowledge and inspiration gained into practice and continuing to dream big for God's kingdom.
