SEC President Concludes a Transformative Evangelistic Series at London Ghana

Last Saturday, 28th June, the London Ghana Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church buzzed with spiritual fervour as an evocative evangelistic campaign, spearheaded by Pastor Dr Kirk Thomas, President of the South England Conference (SEC), drew to a triumphant close. This comprehensive series of meetings, which skilfully blended online discussions with two impactful Sabbath gatherings from 20th to 28th June, captivated a significant audience and is being hailed as a profoundly spiritual milestone for the local community.

Pastor Dr Thomas, celebrated for his compelling preaching and insightful biblical exposition, delivered a series of messages that deeply resonated with all present, culminating in the thought-provoking sermon, “What In Hell Do You Want.” He masterfully explored core themes of Christian faith and the Adventist message, offering renewed hope, encouragement, and a deeper grasp of scripture. His remarkable ability to connect with a diverse congregation was evident as people from all walks of life gathered each evening, eager to hear his presentations.

The atmosphere at London Ghana SDA Church was truly vibrant and Spirit-filled. Adding to the spiritual richness, Pastor Alex Mareniuc, Director of the UK Centre for Adventist-Jewish Relations, also presented. His talk, “Fake Deal, or Real Deal,” powerfully underscored the importance of living an authentic and purposeful life.

A standout moment of the campaign was the baptism of four individuals—a truly moving experience set against the backdrop of “I Will Go,” the SEC’s mission theme, beautifully sung by Ruth Mensah. The gatherings were further enhanced by inspiring hymns and worship songs, delivered by the gifted young singing evangelist, Ewurakua Sackey.

One of the newly baptised candidates, Khosla Ahenkora Asumang, shared his personal journey, attributing his decision to a close friendship with a young Adventist lady whose lifestyle had long appealed to him. “I love everything about the Adventist faith and I’m so happy to have taken this decision after several months of pondering about taking this leap of faith,” he remarked.

This evangelistic outreach marks a pivotal moment for both the London Ghana SDA Church and the wider South England Conference. It powerfully reaffirms our unwavering commitment to sharing the Gospel and nurturing faith across our communities. We anticipate the lasting fruits of this campaign will be seen as new believers are warmly welcomed into the church family and existing members grow stronger in their walk with God.
