Singles Fellowship Banquet

The 'Before I do' Singles Fellowship hosted by Blessed Hope Seventh-day Adventist church celebrated its 5th anniversary in grand style on Saturday 8 February with a black-tie dinner event titled 'Love Works'. The host Elizabeth Mendie gave an overview of the journey so far which started in January 2015 with the aim of empowering and stirring Christian singles toward having a godly courtship, equipping and preparing them for a healthy happy marriage.

Guest speakers for the day include Pastor Augustus Lawrence the SEC Family life Director, who emphasised that you need the fruit of Spirits as listed in Galatians 5:22-23 which is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance….’ for your love to work for a lifetime.

A fun filled impactful interactive session was held with Pastor Bimbo Fola-Aldade the family life pastor at the Liberty church who highlighted that you need a working relationship with God for your love to work with others. Pastor Bimbo further stated that dating is not a time for mating rather it is a time for collecting data while trying to recruit someone for the position of a life partner. Real life testimony was given by Elder and Mrs Dayo Dare who confirmed that love still works in today’s world.

The night also featured interactive sessions for the singles who were able to mingle and connect with other Christian singles from around the South England Conference in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying a delicious three course meal.

So, what next? Please 'save the date' for the next 'Before I do' Singles Fellowship which will be held on 27 June 2020 at Blessed Hope Adventist church, Dartford, DA1 2ES, time 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm prompt. It promises to be great fun.
