Social Gospel With a Twist
How do we attract people to our churches so we can share the gospel with them? The London Tamil church has been using an innovative method for some time now under the leadership of Pastor Chackochen. It is nothing new though, since Jesus Himself used the same method by mingling with them where people naturally came together. It is to organise social opportunities such as birthdays, baby showers and social outings which friends and family are more inclined to attend.
It was with this aim, that on Sunday 9 June, Antony and Priya invited their many friends from their workplace along with church members for a baby shower. This was followed by a sumptuous meal and good fellowship. As part of the programme, Pastor Chackochen was able to speak from the Bible on God's place in the family.
Church members were able to make new friends which they intentionally plan to cultivate. Many of the visitors promised to join us in our future programmes.
As part our continual and natural evangelistic thrust, the London Tamil church has planned a baptism on Sabbath 15 June when four people will take their stand with the Lord.
