The North London Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church, part of the South England Conference (SEC), actively participated in the community event “Peruvian Christmas”, held at Chelsea Old Town Hall on Sunday, December 14. The initiative was organised by the Consulate General of Peru in London for the Peruvian community and the wider London community.

During the event, the church engaged in holistic health outreach, distributing more than 200 books, magazines, and leaflets focused on the promotion of health and hope, including material on the Eight Natural Remedies. One of the most significant moments was the presentation of a special Bible to the Honourable Consul General of Peru in London, Minister Ricardo Ynouye, as a gesture of respect, faith, and commitment to the spiritual wellbeing of the community.

The initiative was proposed and led by the church’s Health Ministry, under the leadership of brother and sister Vilma and José Ravelo, together with sister Elizabeth Olalla, with the valuable support of Willigton Montegro and Carmen Ovando. The project also received the support of the South England Conference Health Ministries Director, Edith Samambwa, who provided health literature and materials, contributing significantly to the success of the event.

The outreach involved the participation of 15 members of the local church, including five children, several youths, and Pastor Luis Fajardo, reflecting a strong intergenerational and mission-focused commitment.

Brother José Ravelo summarised the spiritual motivation behind the project with the biblical phrase that defined the spirit of the initiative:

“As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

This conviction encouraged the approach to the Peruvian Consulate and the presentation of Adventist holistic health as a practical response to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the community. The response was so positive that the distributed materials were exhausted before the close of the event.

The North London Hispanic Church has expressed its desire to replicate this initiative in other consulates and embassies of Spanish-speaking countries in London, thereby expanding its missionary and community impact.
